Anjuna Beach is popularly known as the freak capital of the world for its Trance Parties and the Hippies. It is about 18 Km from Panaji, and is surrounded by immense coconut groves. Main attractions of Anjuna Beach are the magnificent Albuquerque Mansion built in 1920 and Wednesday, ‘flea market’.

Travel 18 km from Panaji and you'll find yourself in Anjuna Beach, famous for its beach parties and raves. Anjuna is a beach you will not want to leave if you're a party animal. The Tourist market held here every Wednesday, is very popular.
A popular beach area adjacent to Chapora fort. In Anjuna, there is magnificent Albuquerque mansion built in 1920, flanked by octagonal towers and attractive Mangalore tiled-roof.
It is around 8 kms. west of Mapusa, North Goa. The most basic attraction is Anjuna beach is Flea Market, Chapora Fort. The best time to visit this place is from November To March. The exotic beaches of Anjuna is the main source of enduring popularity to a variety of people. Bathing is generally safer than, at most of the nearby resorts, too, especially at the more peaceful southern end, where a rocky headland keeps the sea calm.
The Village of Anjuna is a five square mile enclosure nestling between the Arabian Sea and the Hill overlooking the beach. the beach is known for its swaying palms, soft sands and natural beauty. It has an unusual rocky formation overlying a cove of white sand and black rock that juts into the Sea. This area was known as the Jewel of Anjuna and called "Ozran". It was a famous early haunt of the hippies who discovered it in the sixties. The beach is adjacent to Chapora fort. Another must see is the "Albuquerque mansion" located nearby. Getting There -----
Passengers from Mapusa and Panjim drop at various points along the Tarmac Road across the top of the village at the Main Starco's crossroads. The Starco's crossroads has a couple of stores, a motorcycle taxi stand, and a bus stand.
